PLEASE LISTEN, DONATE & HELP US SPREAD THE WORD! INVITE YOUR FRIENDS! IF YOU LOVE MUSIC AND RADIO, YOU WOULD’VE LOVVVVVVVED LEE!
Last April, beloved WXOU General Manager from the mid-1990s Lee McPherson passed on after a lengthy struggle with Glioblastoma, an aggressive and deadly form of brain cancer. Lee left behind a legacy at WXOU. The generations of DJs who have followed have built upon Lee’s vision, and with their dedication, WXOU thrives today.
In honor of Lee, WXOU is hosting an “Alumni Take-Over”/Cancer Research Radio-thon in Lee’s name on March 31-April 1, 2012. Former DJ’s and former executive staff members are returning to WXOU on this weekend for an encore presentation of their radio program from when they were in school.
We ask that each and every one of you help spread the word about this radio-thon. Please invite as many people as possible to listen in and to donate on the website during this event. All proceeds raised from this radio-thon will be going to the Chris Elliot Fund for Glioblastoma Brain Cancer Research in honor of Lee McPherson. It is a non-profit organization that provides money for research, education, and financial support for families dealing with the disease.
The fundraiser starts at 8am on March 31st and ends at 10pm on April 1st! Feel free to start donating now at:
Please write in honor of WXOU-LEE McPherson in the “In Memory Of” so we can track donations. THANKS!
