Pop/Punk band Alive In Standby, and Rock band Conditions opened for Chiodos at The Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac on December, 9th, 2012.
The first co-headliners to open and take the stage were Alive In Standby. Vocalist Christian Koo, 18, started out the five song set with favorites such as “Direction”,” Shady, Shady”, and “Mac Attack”. This local act from Shelby, Township got the crowd to get pumped up for the next act by jumping all around the stage.
Next, Richmond, VA favorites Conditions hit the Crofoot stage by starting off their set with “Better Life.” Lead vocalist Brandon Roundtree stated “We are glad to be asked to play this tour with Chiodos.” They played a ten song set with a few others such as “Natural Competition”, “Make Them Remember”, and “Our Way Home.” They really got the crowd pumped for the final headliners.
The long awaited last and final band to hit the stage of the night was of course Chiodos. Front man Craig Owens opened the show with a crowd favorite “The Undertaker’s Thirst for Revenge Is Unquenchable (The Final Battle). Playing other Favorites like “There’s No Penguins In Alaska”, and “Lexington” really got the crowd going wild since Owens jumped in the crowd and got the audience on their feet. During the middle of “Teeth the Size of Piano Keys”, Owens featured Jon Conner as a special guest which was a huge crowd pleaser. Chiodos ended with “The Words “Best Friends” Become Defined.” With this being the last song of the night Owens had the crowd go wild and really “mosh it up”
Overall, the show was pretty good. It was calm during the first two sets, but once Chiodos came out the crowd teared it up. This was my second time seeing these guys and this time around Craig Owens really brought everything he had to the stage to save one of the best performances for last!
