Kelly Ripa’s Live Wire in Ann Arbor

Emmy winning talk show host, Kelly Ripa brought her Live Wire book tour to Ann Arbor’s Michigan Theatre on Friday October 7, 2022. This book tour was to promote her new memoir, Live Wire which is now a New York Times Best Seller. Ripa brought along her husband, Mark Consuelos, and the two took the stage to discuss her latest project.

Ripa made it very clear that writing is something that isn’t a strong suit of hers. In fact, she went into detail about how nervous she was going into this project. She then went on to explain to the crowd that it took her nearly two years to write this book, and she wrote it all by herself with no co-writer. Normally, famous names have some write the book with them, however Ripa did it all on her own.

Over the course of the 80-minute show, Ripa and Consuelos told stories to the audience about not just Ripa’s writing process, but about more details about what she talked about in the book. The pair used visuals which were displayed on a projector and elaborated on stories that readers will have a chance to see for themselves once they get their hands on their copy of Live Wire. While telling these stories, the two made not just the audience laugh but each other laugh which as well proves that these two are a match made in heaven.

The night ended by the couple talking about the love that they have for the city of Ann Arbor. Ripa and Consuelos’ youngest son, Joaquin is a student at the University of Michigan, and is also on the wrestling team. They spoke about their favorite sports to spend time when they come in town, as well as how much Ann Arbor feels like a second home for them. This past April, Ripa and Consuelos both participated in the annual Big House 5k, and they admitted that this will be a tradition for them even after their son graduates.

During the weekend they were in town, Ripa also had two other appearances in Chicago and Indianapolis that same weekend before heading back to New York City for her Monday morning show.

“I have to catch a flight to Chicago, and I’m going to the farmers market in the morning before I leave, nobody take any of the good stuff.” Ripa said to the audience.

Overall, it was a night full of laughs and good memories with both Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos.

Live Wire is now available wherever books are sold in both hard and electronic copies. Kelly Ripa can be caught alongside Ryan Seacrest on Live with Kelly and Ryan weekday mornings.
