Andy Williams Dies Tragically at Age 48

Andy Williams, Every Time I Die guitarist and professional wrestler, died following a wrestling match on Saturday, September 5th, at the age of 48.

His death comes after a tag team match for Enjoy Wrestling, where Williams’ head struck the ringpost leading him to collapse backstage. CPR and medical attention were provided according to the Enjoy Wrestling's X (Twitter) account, but Williams was later pronounced dead in a nearby hospital.

Williams was beloved in many communities, known in the music scene primarily for his work as the lead guitarist for Every Time I Die which disbanded in 2022, which he followed with his new band Atomic Rule in 2024.

Williams was also well known to many for his time as a professional wrestler, signing with AEW in the fall of 2019, where fans knew him as “The Butcher” as a half of the tag team The Butcher and The Blade.

Social media has been full of wrestlers and musicians making tributes to Williams. Malakai Black dedicated his Progress Wrestling championship victory to Williams. During their show in Phoenix, the band My Chemical Romance dedicated the song “Boy Division” to their friend “The Butcher.”

God’s Hate frontman and professional wrestler Brody King posted early on Sunday. “Andy Williams was a legend. Whether you were from music or wrestling, if you met him I’m sure he left a lasting impression.”
