The Couplet Collection #4
A Poem by Julian Enghauser
Gazing to the pupils belonging to my ghostly beloved,
I fall deeper in love with whom I met centuries ago.
The soul never aged,
as beautiful in spirit as she was in flesh.
My only, Grace, looking like her name,
enveloped within a state of eternal.
Beyond a state of beauty,
she reflects that which is her soul,
as it encapsulates her whole self.
To the needle scratches upon the record player,
bounces my still-beating emotions,
as they threaten to joyously burst.
For I am finally united with my love…
A Poem by Julian Enghauser
It is only in my dreams, do I see you again.
For I awaken, hurtful heart,
to the touch of a pillow and not your hand.
Beautiful yet painful
to see you again,
to feel you again,
to touch you again.
Thank you for seeing me once more,
though I know it isn’t real.
To the makers of my dreams,
thank you, but no more.
Pure are your intentions,
but hurtful, the execution.
You try to set the Sun,
But instead you invite the Moon.
